It's possible there were ads then in Summer 2022, but by the references on the wiki as of Feb 2022 it was already dated for Summer 2023. It was bumped, but that schedule move was announced in just May 2023 and the move was only from June to August.
I hadn't heard of it at all until I started seeing letterboxd follows giving it decently high ratings after press screenings, that plus learning it features Will Forte and a border terrier (I'm partial) put it firmly on the radar
That trailer was firmly in Alan Smithee territory. I'm amazed it turned out watchable. I love dogs and Will Ferrell both an inordinate amount, so I might have to give it a try, but I can't overstate how dire the trailer looked.
The unintentional best bit was the increasing amount of cameos that, uh, "couldn't be used now." Down to the eventual reveal of the villain who I don't even know would be known by people of a certain age.
