IN A VIOLENT NATURE remains one of my favorite films of the year, and it generated several memorable posters. This one is my clear favorite: https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/eURQWTp9stJL9TaM9xdXlFpvZDw.jpg

This one was a runner-up. It looks like a parody of an arthouse poster but it also tells you exactly what sort of movie you're going to watch:

I wish I liked that movie as much as I respect what it was going for! But it's definitely a film of note.

Pictures of a Ghost has been on my watch-list for a while and that poster makes me want to see it even more now! Designing movie posters that do more than just tell you who is in the movie is increasingly a lost art (just like editing good movie trailers). For anyone who hasn’t seen it, I highly recommend the 2013 doc on artist Drew Struzan, who created pretty much every iconic 80s movie poster you can think of.

What a great site, thanks for the link! I collect premium movie sets and already have more posters than I can fit on the wall as a result, but posters like this one could earn a spot:

Hundreds of Beavers poster really nails the tone of the flick. I like the new poster for the Looney Tunes flick The Day The Earth Blew Up, hope that movie delivers: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F3ac7eugr026e1.jpeg

I'd like to shout out the other movie to feature Lady Liberty in its poster this year, CIVIL WAR. The image of the sniper's nest in the torch is a lot like the movie it's advertising: a little preposterous, on the nose, and very striking. https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/sh7Rg8Er3tFcN9BpKIPOMvALgZd.jpg

But my favorite this year is probably the alt poster for DRIVE AWAY DOLLS: https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/uhhk04U8CV55sDgpwb5GvvE6KSV.jpg
