I've actually never seen the first Prom Night but the sequel is terrific stuff. Definitely worth your time if you're looking for some (knowingly) silly 80's horror

I think another weird thing about the Prom Night series (which I've thought about a lot, because I am definitely a horror geek looking for ambrosia) is that III sort of continues the feel of II with Mary Lou being basically sock hop Freddy and then IV tries to get back to I's 'straight' / non-supernatural thing.

IV is a snooze but III is a lot of fun - it's not as good as II because the acting and imagination aren't as good, but it's still a lot of fun and has a very '2nd season of Twin Peaks' / ;low budget take on Chuck Russell Nightmare' vibe and I'd love to see a good restoration of it.

I remember III having a real Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? feel.
