This reminds me of watching Dead Snow at bar at the Kumas Corner location in Lincoln Park. I have always imagined any number of shoppers from the Lulu Lemon and Akira stores nearby stopping in for a trendy burger only to be permanently traumatized.

I got way further into this review than I should have before realizing it wasn't about Dead Snow!

I watched this last year when I noticed it was on Amazon Prime (which it still is). The shots of the Nazi zombies rising out of the water are reminiscent of the undead Knights Templar emerging from the sea at the end of 1974’s THE GHOST GALLEON, the third “Blind Dead” movie. The difference, of course, is when the Knights surface, we also get to see the water spilling out of their empty eye sockets.

Wet Nazi zombies?

Sounds like Surf Nazis to me!

Well, we know how they must be dealt with.

further Dead Don't Die fan clocking in, for all that it's presented with Jarmusch's usual sense of humour and playfulness I remember finding its resigned weariness much more disturbing than the more overt shock tactics of that summer's more attention-grabbing horror release, Midsommar; haven't revisited since that first viewing, can't imagine the last five years have done much to diminish it though.

I love 'Shock Waves'. For me it's a quintessential 'vibe' horror movie. Put it on nice and late, dim the lights, get a bit frazzled and just let it wash over you. Amazing score as well.

When I saw this I was young enough to be mislead by the poster into thinking that there would a gargantuan Nazi zombie in it who would lift a boat up with his hand. It was a formative disappointment.

This sounds fun! If only as a curio. But mostly wanted to say that I’m with you in being a fan of The Dead Don’t Die. Got to hand it to Jarmusch for making maybe the best zombie film *and* the best vampire movie of the 21st century. Because surely we can all agree that Only Lovers Left Alive is *exquisite*.

Yes, but I'm someone who loves Jarmusch but hates Shakespeare deniers, so you can imagine the mental torment that movie creates in me.

On second thought, The Dead Don’t Die definitely isn’t as good as, say, 28 Days Later. Still, one of the best zombie movies of the century.

Apparently I watched this in 2020: "Surprisingly good, with a decent cast and solid direction and some really nice underwater photography. Sort of fell apart near the end, and the ending itself was kinda silly." Now I'm curious what that means.

And now I really want to see Revenge Of The Zombies. I've developed a minor obsession with WWII movies that were made before WWII concluded.
