We would have 100% reviewed the Swift movie if it screened for us. But alas, no. (We also couldn't get access to Anatomy of a Fall, which is more seriously vexing/annoying.)

Glad you mentioned the Altman Caine Mutiny Court Martial. It's a good film, well cast and well made. The 1954 film is good too. I'll gladly see another version (and I probably should read the book eventually!)

I never understood why the Altman never got much attention, even from fans. I wasn't even *aware* of it until I happened to visit a friend at the University of Virginia back in the mid-'90s and the library had a copy. Watched it then and there and could not believe I hadn't heard about it before.

Yeah it's kinda ridiculous how little-seen it is. My rating of 7/10 on IMDB is one of only 657. Take the most obscure movies you can think of by a major director and it's way more than that. Maybe because it was a TV Movie and was not released on VHS it just immediately disappeared from public eye

It was released on VHS, though. Vidmark put it out. (I know because my local university has it in their collection, which is how I got to see it.)

Well, you sold me on The Mission and have me curious about Divinity. I was going to watch Caine Mutiny anyways but good to know it's good! Glad that a career like Friedkin's won't end on The Devil and Father Amorth.
