It's a testament to the Mouse's marketing that children probably know who Rocket Raccoon is as much as they do Superman (and maybe even more so, given WB's failures to get Superman right)
"One problem with R.M.N. is that Bad Luck Banging got here first and better"
I have seen neither film, but I'm still trying to wrap my ahead around the idea that a movie about gritty labor and racism covers the same themes as the leaked sex tape film.
It's not the subject matter, but the fact that both films pivot on public forums where the themes at issue are openly (and often ignorantly) discussed.
what's your take on the animal experimentation scenes in GotG? I've heard a range of opinions and I've gotten nervous, because "animal torture" would definitely be on my list of "things that make me want to turn a movie off"
Josh Larsen from Filmspotting had a, uh, strong negative reaction to Guardians so I'm glad to have a positive take to balance out my expectations in my head. I'll know for myself in....*checks watch*...two hours and fourteen minutes regardless!
Looked up R.M.N. and found out it's in one theater in Baltimore showing at 7pm only for a week. IFC Films truly doing the most limited of releases as it shuffles off this mortal coil.
edit 5/10: spoke too soon! 5/12-5/18 at AFI Silver for those in the DMV
I noted a similar upswing in the visibility of Deadpool paraphernalia and apparel after the release of the first film.

Worth a look if you can swing it. Every film of his is an event. It’s unfortunate that the release is so limited.
