Honestly, Dom *should* be carrying a lot of guilt around about the scores of random digital people he's responsible for killing. Plus, I think Paul Schrader proved himself a franchise guy with Dominion: A Prequel to The Exorcist.
DOM sits at a small desk in a tidy room writing in a notebook, occasionally sipping from a cold CORONA BRAND BEER.
DOM (V.O.) Sometimes a weapon, sometimes a home, what is a car ultimately but a vehicle, and what is a vehicle but a conveyance, a way to get somewhere. This world is made of roads and the car is made to drive over them. We go out into the world by our chosen roads and if we can sustain the driving and the car endures we find that there is no road that does not eventually lead us back to where we started, to the eternal destination, to family.
Took the spoiler to heart and skipped the Master Gardener review as it’s one of my more anticipated films of the year, more so to just watch Joel Edgerton in more stuff. He was fantastic in Underground Railroad, and really solid in The Gift and It Comes At Night. In my book, he’s one of the best working male actors in the business, and - though perhaps more unsung - up there with Kaluuya, Hardy, Shannon, and Fassbender as being, for the most part, absolutely captivating in whatever they’re in.
Had a friend recommend it to me too - has definitely been on my shortlist, but now knowing it also features a pre-Trouble Will Find Me National track, it’s definitely bumped up to the No 1 spot (I should note I have no issue with that album, but their output after has seems a little lackluster). All that to say, appreciate the bump!

Got to see Master Gardener today. Loved it. It’s definitely of a piece with Schrader’s recent work. I even noted a visual rhyme between Narvel’s little shack and Pastor Toller’s church in First Reformed.
Is the Master Gardener a Constant Gardener?
secret third film spoiler: there's a Grey Master Constant Gardener(s)
As neither a Fast Freak or a Schraderhead, I have no interest in these movies but as always I enjoy reading your reviews anyway!
But what if PS directed an F&F? Now that would be something.
That would be quite the hard pivot.

Amazing. I mean, this series does need a new direction.
Script Addendum: Willem Da Friend walks into the room playing (I don't know any of these characters) XX's Father.

People tell you that you need a new direction. It feels like my compass is broken. I’ve been getting headaches again, I need to focus.

I can't tell you how much the ending of Warrior moved me. Edgerton + Hardy + The National = tears.

Yeah, Warrior is awesome. A real surprise.
