I would love to watch this year, as I would love to watch every year, but the academy simply will not consider the sleeping habits of parents of small children in Western Europe and so sadly I will be very much asleep. Hoping to wake up to an Anora sweep with Wallace and Gromit bringing home the bacon to the UK
I haven't been able to stomach the show for years because I'm a bit allergic to the self congratulatory pomp and circumstance. The larger climate certainly doesn't help this year.
I do enjoy following some of the drama on podcasts and such though and appreciate when a film I like gets recognition. I don't get worked up about snubs, undeserved wins, or any of that much though.
Honestly the only Oscar snub/win thing that gets me miffed is when something deserving wins and it gets blockback because of that win. I recognize the silly little inevitable hype/reaction cycles are almost a law of social interaction (in person and online, irl I’ve heard backlash to Anora since its nomination) but that doesn’t keep them from bothering me.
I barely even watch new movies, particularly the kind of stuff that gets Oscar nominations. I'm just here for your historical content and Cookie Monster.
Maybe? I feel like my tastes diverted from what the Oscars usually reward so there isn't a lot that the ceremony offers that I cant read about the next day.
I’ll be watching. I’m 63 and have watched every year as an adult and some years prior to that. Even though the Oscars have given me reasons not to stick with it in recent years, I always get pulled back in like Michael Corleone.

I will be watching to see who Will Smith hits this year. Was a genius idea by the Academy to turn it into a yearly tradition

I'll tune in for some of it, but I won't be able to keep it together for In Memoriam for Shelley Duvall reasons, so I'll have to skip that part.
LOL. Yes! Go fill out a ballot and win yourself some RESPECT!
