Here’s something new that’s exclusively for paid subscribers of The Reveal: the first in what we hope to be a series of audio commentaries for films we admire. First up: Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which first shocked viewers 50 years ago. We discuss the movie’s history, what makes it work so well, and ponder the extreme fringes of Texas barbecue. Listening along is pretty easy. If you want to watch it with the film, the countdown at the top of the recording should line up with the start of the film. (We had a technical difficulty early on that might knock it a little out of sync, but hopefully it’s pretty close.) You can also just listen to it without the movie. We’re not going to stop you. Either way, we hope you enjoy what we have to say.

It's the 50th anniversary of Tobe Hooper's horror masterpiece. We commemorated by recording our own audio commentary.
