i would go so far as to say that staying quiet to avoid getting killed predates the modern era and even humanity itself…

I’m glad DAY ONE is getting some good notices, but it’s still hard for me to work up much enthusiasm for it after getting repeatedly clobbered by its trailer over the past several months.

I find that sometimes I am eagerly anticipating a new release for the sole reason of not having to see the trailer anymore.

I had to watch that stupid ARGYLL trailer so many times on Twitch.

The Bikeriders was this for me. But I also go to AFI enough that I sometimes memorize trailers for repertory stuff (INLAND EMPIRE and the Three Colors trilogy from 2022, for instance)

Nothing about the DAY ONE trailer made me want to sit through it, but I’m suddenly having a change of heart. Of course, I more want to get out to JANET PLANET this weekend.

Man, even the trailers for Janet Planet make me cry. I have a feeling it's going to rip me to shreds.

please tell me the cat is categorically mute, so I don't spend the entire movie waiting for it to meow and give them away.....

If the cat dies, I will riot.

I actually liked A Quiet Place 2: Get Quieter, but it was one of the first movies I saw in theaters after COVID, so that may have had a lot to do with it. Still, when I first saw the trailer for this, I was initially a little bummed that it wasn't Part 3! But I'm always down to see my home city get overrun with monsters and/or aliens. I don't think we've had a proper infestation since Cloverfield.

But does Alex Wolff sadly prepare a meal continuing his trend from the last film

Alas, no meal preparation. He does have a melancholy air about him though.

Having watched it I am amazed they used an alternate take/actor to not spoil his scene in the trailers. It's been a while since I've seen that in a big budget film.

Having seen it I am firmly behind the idea from Janet Planet of selling out your freeloader friend back to the theater cult when they can’t pay rent.

Just saw DAY ONE with my teen daughter. One beauty of seeing a movie like this in a full, rowdy theater is that the very nature of the film promotes the audience to be as silent as the protagonists. If only more popular theatre fare could pull this trick off
